Purchasing Assistant

My client is a successful and growing business looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant to join their busy purchasing and supply chain team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with some existing experience who is keen to develop their skills, broaden their knowledge and build a long-term career within procurement and buying. Working as part of an established team, your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining accurate and organised records of purchase orders, quotations and supplier communications. Supporting supplier price comparisons, cost analysis and negotiations to ensure competitive purchasing. Monitoring orders and identifying potential supply issues or delivery delays. Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with suppliers. Helping to maintain product availability whilst minimising excess stock. Liaising closely with warehouse and sales teams to coordinate stock requirements and incoming deliveries.

Supporting the ongoing improvement of purchasing processes, systems and procedures. You'll be highly organised, proactive and have excellent attention to detail, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience using ERP, MRP, Sage or similar business systems is essential, as you'll be using these on a daily basis. Ideally, you'll have at least 1 year's experience in a purchasing, procurement, planning or supply chain-related role, perhaps within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
