Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:50 (with flexibility for weekend work)

We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join as a Wagon Fitter in a highly skilled maintenance team responsible for keeping freight operations moving safely and efficiently. If you have a strong mechanical background and enjoy hands-on engineering work, this could be the ideal opportunity to develop your career.

• As a Wagon Fitter, you'll play a key role in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of freight wagons, ensuring they meet strict safety and performance standards.
• Completing routine servicing, maintenance, and overhaul tasks
• Inspecting and repairing brakes, suspension, couplings, wheelsets, and underframe components
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and delivering high-quality repairs
• Replacing worn parts such as brake blocks, bearings, seals, and pipework
• Conducting brake tests and functional checks
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and maintenance documents

• Strong mechanical engineering background (rail, HGV, plant, automotive, or similar)
• Experience with heavy mechanical equipment or wagons (preferred)
• Competence using hand and power tools
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and follow planned maintenance schedules
