General Operative – Peterborough – Permanent, Full‑Time (42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm)
Annual salary: up to £28,186.33
About the RoleWe are looking for a hardworking and reliable General Operative to join our team. You will prepare vacant properties to a high standard, ready for new residents. The role involves travelling between properties, working independently and as part of a team, and maintaining excellent quality standards.
Responsibilities- Carry out deep cleans of vacant houses, flats, and maisonettes.
- Clean and sanitise kitchens, including cupboards, worktops, sinks, tiles, and appliances where applicable.
- Deep clean bathrooms and toilets, including descaling, disinfecting, and removing mould and limescale.
- Wash down walls, doors, skirting boards, and other internal surfaces as required.
- Clean internal windows, frames, and windowsills.
- Vacuum, mop, and treat a variety of flooring types.
- Remove cobwebs, dust, and debris from properties and communal areas.
- Remove and dispose of minor waste in line with company procedures.
- Complete final quality inspections to ensure properties meet lettable standards.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or repair requirements to the supervisor.
- Capture before and after photographs where required.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with COSHH and Health & Safety requirements.
- Load, unload, and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ensure company vehicles and equipment are clean, organised, and well‑stocked.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to complete properties within agreed timescales.
- Previous experience in domestic, commercial, void, or deep cleaning environments.
- Good understanding of hygiene standards and safe cleaning practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in your approach.
- Flexible to travel between multiple locations and adapt to changing workloads.
- UK full driving licence.
- Entitlement to work within the UK; all roles are subject to relevant background, identity and security checks before commencement of employment.
To drive a company vehicle you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for more than three months and have fewer than nine penalty points.
