Maintenance Operative

This is more than a maintenance job. It’s your chance to become part of the Wildflower journey and help shape the places where our children learn, play and grow.

We’re looking for a hands‑on, practical problem solver to look after five of our nurseries across London, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.

You’ll be the person who sees something that needs fixing and thinks, “I’ll sort it.”

From fixing locks, leaky taps and broken toilets to painting, repairing furniture and equipment, putting up fixtures and making sure our indoor and outdoor spaces are safe and looking their best you’ll make a visible difference every single week.

No two days will be the same, and we’re not looking for someone who says, “That’s not my job.” We want someone who gets stuck in, takes pride in their work and understands that when you work in our nurseries, even the smallest job can make a big difference to our children and our teams.

You'll support five Wildflower nurseries:

• Twickenham, London

• Brentford, London

• Barnet, London

• Wendover, Buckinghamshire

• Bedford, Bedfordshire

We'd ideally love someone based in Hertfordshire
, but we're happy to consider someone based closer to any of our nurseries. For us, the right person matters more than the postcode.

You don't need to be able to do absolutely everything – but you do need to be someone who is practical, reliable, resourceful and happy to get stuck in.

If you're the type of person who can walk into a room, spot what needs doing and work out how to fix it, we'd love to hear from you.

Previous maintenance, handyman, facilities, building or similar experience would be great, but attitude, common sense and pride in your work matter just as much.

You'll be joining us at an exciting time as we continue to grow and develop our nurseries.

You'll have a company van, all the tools you need and friendly teams waiting to welcome you at every setting.

And because we believe the people who look after our nurseries should be looked after too, you'll also receive:

• £16.00–£20.00 per hour
  , depending on experience
• 3 days per week, 9am–5pm – giving you a great work-life balance and plenty of time outside of work.
• A company van – so you can travel between our settings without having to use your own vehicle.
• Tools provided – we've got the tools covered, so you can focus on getting the job done.
• 28 days annual leave pro rata
, including bank holidays and our Christmas closure – because everyone needs proper time to switch off.
• Your birthday off – because we know how important birthdays are. Whether you spend it with family, friends or simply doing absolutely nothing, it's your day and we want you to enjoy it.
• A wellbeing day – because sometimes you just need a day for yourself.
• 60% childcare discount – making childcare that little bit easier for our Wildflower families.
• Healthcare benefits and access to our Sovereign Healthcare Programme
  .
• Employee Assistance Programme – because life doesn't always go to plan, and it's important to have support when you need it.
• And perhaps one of the best parts of the job:
  friendly faces wherever you go.

Ready to make a difference?

If you want a role where you can see the impact of your work every day, become a familiar face to our nursery teams and play your part in the next chapter of Wildflower, we'd love to hear from you.

Come and help us keep our Wildflower nurseries safe, welcoming and brilliant.
