Senior Head of Legal Residential Property - Peterborough, UK
OverviewThe firm is seeking a motivated and experienced Qualified Solicitor (5+ PQE) to manage their Property Litigation department. You will be responsible for overseeing departmental strategy, operations, and performance, while providing technical and operational support and ensuring the team delivers exceptional client service.
Responsibilities- Developing, implementing, and reviewing a department strategy to support the wider company strategy.
- Formulating, agreeing, and delivering annual departmental budgets.
- Networking internally to build contacts and generate cross-referrals.
- Managing recovery of cash and aged debtors.
- Developing, maintaining, and reviewing monthly departmental KPIs and performance reporting.
- Ensuring department audits are successfully passed.
- Servicing clients in line with company policies and procedures.
- Delivering market-leading levels of customer service and communication.
- Ensuring technical competence through training, support, and succession planning.
- Understanding and managing departmental risks.
- Promoting the company vision and values.
- Continually improving systems and processes to increase efficiency, enhance client experience, and reduce risk.
- Assisting with recruitment within the Property Litigation department.
- Liaising with HR regarding departmental training requirements.
- Providing technical and operational support to the department as required.
- Working with HR to ensure all probation periods are effectively managed.
- Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with 5+ years PQE
. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle complex and multiple caseloads.
- Proven experience in managing a department.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills.
- Excellent leadership and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to influence and drive mindset change at all levels.
- Proven track record of external networking and the ability to increase workflow for the team.
