Responsibilities

  • Drive and lead projects commercially to ensure they are procured, delivered within budget and to the highest quality
  • Formulate commercial strategies in connection with conflict avoidance, conflict management and dispute resolution
  • Ensure compliance of all contractual activities on the project
  • Develop and manage the issue of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence
  • Monitor and report on all commercial aspects of projects, proposing mitigation actions for any issues
  • Manage the assessment and valuation of contractor applications and payment certifications
  • Provide advice on change management and produce documentation for approval
  • Ensure proper retention and archiving of commercial records and undertake final account settlements
Requirements
  • Significant post-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with demonstrable track record of achievement
  • Demonstrable commercial and contract management experience (pre and post contract essential)
  • Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working
  • A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving
  • Extensive experience of setting up and/or operating office management systems including filing systems and document control and distribution
  • Extensive experience of drafting effective contractual correspondence and the facilitation of collaborative solutions
  • Experience of developing & implementing procurement and contract strategies
  • Proven negotiating and team-working skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge
  • Experience in implementing and delivering strategic objectives and associated change programmes
  • Confidence and ability to assert influence
  • Holds an RICS / CICES accredited degree
  • Full Membership of RICS or CICES
