Bodyshop Manager (Vehicle Preparation Centre) Peterborough £55,000 OTE £61,000
Permanent Position, Monday to Friday - 8am - 4.30pm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Preparation Centre Manager / Bodyshop Manager to lead a high-volume refurbishment operation in Peterborough.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business, overseeing a large-scale operation of approximately 150 employees across SMART Repair, MET, Panel, Paint and Alloy Wheel departments.
The RoleAs Vehicle Preparation Centre Manager / Bodyshop Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the operation, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
You’ll be an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys improving processes and motivates teams to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of approximately 150 staff across multiple production departments.
- Oversee the complete vehicle refurbishment process from arrival through to final quality inspection.
- Drive performance against key KPIs including Productivity, Efficiency, Utilisation and Work in Progress (WIP).
- Support and develop departmental Team Leaders and Supervisors.
- Monitor vehicle progress and proactively resolve production delays.
- Ensure all repairs meet company and manufacturer quality standards.
- Complete final quality inspections and vehicle sign-off.
- Produce management reports and analyse operational performance.
- Maintain effective stock control and ordering processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase productivity.
- Promote a positive, safe and high-performing working environment.
- Previous experience managing within an Accident Repair Centre or Vehicle Preparation Centre.
- Strong knowledge of the complete vehicle refurbishment process.
- Experience managing large teams within a fast-paced production environment.
- A proven track record of achieving operational KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A hands‑on management style with a proactive approach to problem solving.
