Packaging Technologist

Overview

Packaging Technologist — 6-9 month contract, full-time. Salary dependant on experience.

Location:

Peterborough. Reporting to:
Packaging Manager.

• Lead packaging development for NPD projects within a manufacturing environment
• Brief, manage, and liaise with suppliers on component specifications, tooling, artwork, and testing
• Coordinate colour matching, cutter guides, and specification approvals
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including specifications, pallet plans, and NLFs
• Attend production trials and first production runs to ensure packaging performs as intended
• Track and clearly communicate project progress, risks, and priorities
• Support Packaging Coordinators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

• Proven experience in packaging development, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing
• Strong technical knowledge of plastic and glass packaging components and production processes
• Confident managing multiple projects and working cross-functionally
• Hands-on, detail-driven, and solutions-focused approach
• Manufacturing experience is advantageous
• Proactive, organised, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
