Materials Engineer
Location: UK-based (applicants must have the right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not available)
About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled and detail-focused Production Chemist to join an innovative and growing team. This role is laboratory-based and focuses on testing, analysing, and supporting the manufacture of specialist thermal products used in industrial cooling systems.
The successful candidate will play a key role in quality control, product testing, and manufacturing support
, while also acting as a link between R&D and production teams to ensure product quality and performance standards are maintained.
Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial laboratory environment
, performing analytical testing and supporting the scale-up of manufactured products.
- Preparing samples for both existing products and new product development
- Carrying out quality control testing on raw materials and finished products against defined thermal and physical specifications
- Analysing samples using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to assess melting and solidification behaviour
- Conducting additional analytical testing including p‑h, conductivity, density and related physical measurements
- Supporting the production and development of thermal management materials
- Accurately recording and reporting analytical results using both digital and paper‑based systems
- Working closely with R&D and manufacturing teams to support product scale‑up and ensure consistency in production
- Supporting research into new formulations, product improvements, and analytical method refinement
- Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline
- Industrial laboratory experience is essential
- Hands‑on experience using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) or similar thermal analysis techniques
- Experience working within manufacturing, materials, chemical or industrial product environments
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Strong problem‑solving ability and confidence working across R&D and production teams
- Organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Project management experience would be advantageous
- Flexible and proactive with a willingness to support wider business activities when required
