Copywriter and Product Manager

The Leprosy Mission Shop - owned by The Leprosy Mission International - are looking for an experienced storyteller, from either a marketing, fundraising or communications setting, who can land messages powerfully both in print and digitally to join them as a Copywriter and Product Manager.

• Leading the development and marketing of all matters relating to TLM Shop’s Gifts for Life product range.
• Supporting the Head of Marketing in the development of products for the Christian gifts market.
• Working with the Head of Marketing, Head of Operations, Head of Digital and Data and Senior Digital Marketing Executive.
• Selecting and buying books and other profitable products.
• Being responsible for the Gifts for Life income stream, approx. £600k per annum.

• Educated to Degree level or relevant professional experience.
• Excellent written English and understanding of correct grammar.
• Ability to write specifically for Christian audiences, with an understanding the way the Christian faith and the Bible intersect with and inform The Leprosy Mission’s work, including understanding appropriate use of scripture.
• Confident understanding and knowledge of the Bible and can discuss appropriate Bible verses with other members of the team.
• Ability to draw on knowledge of the Bible and the Christian market to assist with the development of Christian products.
• Excellent communicator capable of developing effective working relationships across a wide variety of people, faiths and cultures.
• Ability to ‘story-tell’ and land messages powerfully, in a broad range of print and digital communications.
• Experienced in proof-reading and editing.
• At least two years’ proven success in compelling story telling in a marketing, communications or fundraising setting.
• Proven commercial and marketing acumen commensurate with someone who manages a product range.
• An understanding of the Christian gift market, book purchasing and publishing is advantageous.

Permanent, Part-time, 22.5 hours per week.

Peterborough based with hybrid option. Opportunity to travel overseas occasionally (e.g. every two years) to further develop the Gifts for Life product range and gather stories.
