About Intuitive Thinking SkillsAt Intuitive Thinking Skills (ITS), we believe that people’s experiences, including the challengingones, canbecomestrengths.
We don’t believe our role is to fix people or tell them what their future should look like. Our role is to create opportunities, remove barriers and help people recognise the skills, strengths and potential they already have.
Working alongside Peterborough City Council ,Change Grow Live ,commissioner sand local partners, we are developing a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation (LERO) that puts lived and living experience at the heart of Peterborough’s recovery community.
Our aspirations go much further than delivering a commissioned service. Over the lifetime of the contract, we want to support local people to develop the LERO into a strong, sustainable and ultimately independent organisation for Peterborough.
We are looking for someone who can help us make that happen.
The RoleThis role is about people, relationships and community development.
As Project Development Lead, you will work across Peterborough, building relationships with people who have lived and living experience of drug and alcohol challenges and helping them identify what they want to achieve next.
For some people that might mean volunteering or becoming a peer supporter. For othersitcouldbeeducation, employment, becominganambassadorortrustee, developing their own community activity, or simply becoming more connected with their local community.
You will work closely with Peterborough City Council, Change Grow Live, local recovery communities, mutualaidgroups, voluntaryandcommunityorganisations, employers and other local services to strengthen what already exists and identify where something newcouldmakeadifference.
A significant part of the role will also be developing the LERO itself. We want local people to increasingly take ownership of the organisation, influence how it develops andeventuallyleaditindependently.
This means you will need to be equally comfortable sitting around a table with commissioners and partners as you are spending time in communities, talking with people, listening to ideas and helping turn those ideas into something meaningful.
What You’ll Be DoingDeveloping the LERO and Our Local Community
- Lead the continued development of the LERO across Peterborough.
- Spend time within local communities identifying existing strengths, skills, people, groups and community assets.
- Build relationships with people with lived and living experience and support them to identify their own goals and aspirations.
- Create routes into volunteering, peer support, education, employment, training and wider community involvement.
- Work alongside local people to develop new activities and projects that respond to what communities tell us they need.
- Make sure co-production is genuine, with people having a real say in what the LERO does and how it develops.
- Help ensure recovery support reaches beyond formal treatment and creates opportunities for people to build relationships, confidence and supportive networks within their communities.
- Identify gaps in existing support and work with local partners and communities to develop practical responses.
- Deliver accredited courses on attitude and behaviour change, training will be provided.
You will:
- Develop strong working relationships with Peterborough City Council, commissioners and other key stakeholders.
- Work particularly closely with Change Grow Live as Peterborough’s structured drug and alcohol treatment provider.
- Build relationships with mutual aid groups, recovery communities, voluntary and community organisations, employers, housing providers, healthcare services and other local partners.
- Represent ITS and the LERO at relevant partnership meetings, forums and community events.
- Make sure the LERO complements existing services rather than duplicating them.
- Develop partnerships that create new opportunities for people with lived and living experience.
