About us

Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough. We support people aged 18 and over living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease. Our expert team combines specialist medical care for pain and symptom management with emotional, practical and spiritual support. The wellbeing and community support team are available to listen, and our Hospice at Home service operates seven days a week to provide care at home at the end of life.

About

the Role

In palliative care no day is the same. Working on our inpatient unit provides a unique opportunity to care for patients with a variety of conditions and symptoms. If you would like to develop your knowledge of different conditions and their impact on patients and families, a role in palliative care with Sue Ryder is for you. Our registered nurses provide compassionate, holistic care for patients with life-limiting illnesses, extending beyond medical tasks to include emotional, psychological and spiritual support for patients and their families.

Our registered nurses work on a rotational shift pattern, including early shifts, late shifts, long days, nights and weekends. As this role supports a 24/7 service, we require flexibility to work a range of shifts as needed. The successful applicants will be part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with Specialty Doctors, therapy staff, volunteers and other key MDT members to achieve the best outcomes for each patient.
