An exciting opportunity has arisen within Neonatal Services at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a Band 6 Neonatal Clinical Facilitator for our busy Level 2 (LNU) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Peterborough City Hospital. Our Neonatal Unit has 20 cots and cares for babies born at 27 weeks gestation or greater. We are seeking to appoint an experienced and knowledgeable neonatal qualified nurse with an interest in neonatal education and teaching.
Mainduties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing evidence based education and guidance for the delivery of safe and effective clinical care by all nursing staff within NICU. Assessing care needs, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care. Facilitating the orientation, induction and continued supervision of new and existing registered nursing staff to achieve clinical competence associated with skills required in the allocated specialty.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesPromote and facilitate life-long learning within the clinical area. To act as a role model within NICU and demonstrate best clinical and professional practice. To facilitate junior nursing staff in the development of competence, skills and knowledge in the assessment of care needs for infants and their families. Assist in the planning and implementation of professional development programmes and pathways. To develop orientation programmes, orientate and preceptor new staff members and provide support mechanisms for these.
Personspecification Qualifications
- Current registration with the NMC Paediatric RN or Adult RN status
- Teaching and assessing qualification and /or Mentorship Module

Where your role requires a DBS check, the Trust will pay the fee upfront and reclaim the cost (including a £5 admin fee) from your first month’s salary. Volunteers are exempt.
