Job Description:Our client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy first-opinion small animal setting offering a broad mix of medical and surgical cases. The position is ideally suited to a confident clinician who enjoys working cases through thoroughly, communicating closely with clients, and contributing positively within an experienced multi-vet environment.

The role offers considerable flexibility, with full-time hours preferred and part-time applications also considered. The successful candidate will normally work four weekdays, with only a 1-in-4 Saturday morning commitment and no overnight out-of-hours or on-call duties. For an experienced veterinarian interested in progressing further, there is also scope to take on additional senior or leadership responsibilities.

Clinical development is actively encouraged, allowing the successful candidate to build expertise in areas of particular interest while maintaining a varied general practice workload. This opportunity would suit a progressive, approachable veterinarian who values professional independence, constructive case discussion, and a sustainable working pattern.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied first-opinion caseload across medical and surgical presentations
• Working cases through from initial consultation to diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
• Communicating clearly with pet owners regarding investigations, treatment choices, and ongoing care
• Contributing clinical insight and experience during case discussions with veterinary colleagues
• Supporting consistently high standards of patient care across day-to-day consultations and procedures

Qualifications Needed:

• Veterinary degree with appropriate eligibility to practise in England
• Previous small animal experience with confidence handling both medical and surgical cases
• Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and professional communication style
• Ability to work effectively within a busy multi-vet clinical environment
• Interest in continued professional development, with leadership ambitions welcomed but not essential

Package:

• Four-weekday working pattern based around approximately 39 hours per week
