• October – March: 8:15am – 4:00pm

• April – September: 8:00am – 4:45pm

We're looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a friendly, hardworking team maintaining sports grounds, parks and public open spaces in Yaxley.

This isn't just a grass-cutting job. You'll be helping to maintain outdoor spaces enjoyed by the local community, making sure they're safe, well-kept and looking their best throughout the year.

Previous professional groundskeeping experience is essential. We're looking for someone who knows how to maintain natural grass and can confidently operate professional grounds maintenance equipment.

• Maintaining natural grass across parks, recreational areas and sports pitches.

• Operating ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers and heavy-duty strimmers.

• Preparing sports grounds, including mowing, line marking, re-seeding and spiking.

• Carrying out seasonal grounds maintenance and general outdoor upkeep.

• Keeping pathways, open spaces and surrounding areas clean and safe.

• Litter picking, emptying bins and general site maintenance.

• Inspecting grounds and equipment and reporting any issues.

• Working alongside the team to maintain high standards across all sites.

• Previous professional groundskeeping or grounds maintenance experience – essential.

• Experience maintaining natural grass – essential.

• Confident operating ride-on mowers and heavy-duty strimmers – essential.

• Experience maintaining sports pitches, parks, estates or large green spaces.

• A full, clean UK driving licence.

• Good knowledge of safe machinery operation and grounds maintenance practices.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A reliable, practical attitude and pride in a job well done.

You'll be working outdoors in all weathers, and this is a physically demanding role.

During the growing season, things get busy, and you'll need to be confident using machinery and managing your workload.

This position isn't suitable for someone with only domestic gardening experience or someone looking to move into groundskeeping for the first time.
