Are you a Chemist with laboratory experience looking to build a career in product development and applied materials science?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing specialist manufacturer within the HVAC and refrigeration sector, developing thermal energy storage and phase change materials used across UK and international markets.
The company supplies innovative solutions designed to improve energy efficiency in cooling and refrigeration systems and is actively involved in Horizon (EU) and Innovate UK funded research projects. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Production Chemist to support their laboratory testing and product development activities.
In this role you will support new product development and laboratory testing, carrying out analytical work to ensure product performance, quality and safety. You will work closely with research engineers and manufacturing teams, acting as a link between R&D and production while contributing to the development of new thermal materials.
The Role
- Supporting laboratory testing and new product development
- Preparing and analysing samples of existing and developmental materials
- Conducting quality control testing on raw materials and finished products
- Carrying out Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) analysis to monitor phase change behaviour
- Performing analytical measurements including pH, conductivity and density
- Recording and reporting analytical results
- Supporting R&D engineers and production teams with technical laboratory work
- Assisting with product research and manufacturing scale-up
The Person
- Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
- Previous laboratory experience
- Interest in thermal materials, energy storage or applied chemistry
The salary advertised is a guideline for this position. The offered remuneration will depend on your experience, qualifications and skillset.
