Peterborough City Council is looking for an experienced
Social Worker – Fostering
to join their fostering service on a temporary basis.

You will be responsible for supporting and supervising foster carers, completing assessments and reviews, and working closely with children’s social care and partner agencies to ensure children and young people are receiving safe, stable and appropriate placements.

• Manage a caseload of up to
  15 fostering households
  .

• Complete
  Form F assessments
  for prospective foster carers.

• Provide regular
  monthly supervision
  to foster carers.

• Support foster carers with placement-related issues and provide ongoing professional advice.

• Attend and contribute to
  Child Care Reviews and placement planning meetings
  .

• Complete
  Foster Carer Annual Reviews
  .

• Undertake relevant
  checks, assessments and risk assessments
  .

• Participate in the
  placement team duty rota
  .

• Work closely with children's social workers and other professionals to support positive placement outcomes.

• Develop effective working relationships with
  education and clinical teams
  and other partner agencies.

• Promote safeguarding, stability and positive outcomes for children in foster care.

• Social Work qualification and relevant professional registration.

• Previous experience within
  fostering or children's social care
  .

• Experience of
  Form F assessments
  is essential.

• Experience supervising and supporting foster carers.

• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and children's social care legislation.

• Ability to manage a caseload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

• Strong communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
