About the Role Peterborough City Council is seeking an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join its Fostering Service. This is an excellent opportunity to support foster carers and contribute to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people in care. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of up to 15 fostering households, providing supervision, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality fostering placements across the service.

Rate: £39 per hour Umbrella

37 hours per week

Sand Martin House, Peterborough Working Pattern:
Hybrid working with 1 day per week in the office

Key Responsibilities Complete comprehensive Form F Assessments for prospective foster carers. Supervise a caseload of up to 15 fostering households. Undertake monthly foster carer supervisions and provide ongoing support and guidance. Attend and contribute to Child Care Reviews, Placement Planning Meetings, and other multi-agency meetings. Complete annual foster carer reviews. Support the Placement Team through participation in a duty rota. Undertake statutory checks, risk assessments, and compliance-related tasks.

Work collaboratively with Children's Social Care, Education, and Clinical Teams to support children in placement. Promote placement stability and positive outcomes for children and young people. Requirements Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration. Previous experience within a Fostering Team. Experience completing Form F Assessments. Strong understanding of fostering legislation, safeguarding, and fostering regulations. Excellent assessment, communication, and relationship-building skills.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
