Salary Circa £35K, Salary Depending On Skills And Experience

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Peterborough Warehouse – Alwalton Hill

Hours and Rota: Contracted 37 hours per week. Standard day 7.4 hours plus two extended shifts of 9.25 hours within a 6‑weekly rotation and one late shift covering 11:00‑18:54. Standby until 23:59 and weekend standby within the 6‑weekly rota.

Looking for a driving role where every journey makes a difference? As an LGV Day Driver with Anglian Water’s Logistics team, you’ll transport goods while keeping water flowing and communities supported. You’ll deliver essential parts and equipment to operational teams across the Water and Water Recycling networks, ensuring reliability, safety, and precision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver essential materials to sites and operational teams, ensuring items are safely and accurately transported, recorded, and ready for use.
  • Support planned maintenance and scheduled works by getting the right equipment to the right place at the right time.
  • Stay compliant with UK transport laws, tachograph regulations, and Anglian Water’s health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Assist the warehouse team when not on the road – including packing deliveries, checking stock, and helping maintain smooth logistics operations.

This is a hands‑on role with real purpose – keeping the water flowing and communities supported, day after day.

Requirements
  • Class 2 Driving License (C)
  • MHE experience (reach truck / counterbalance / Moffett)
  • Fully completed driver DQC CARD CPC
  • Additional driver vocational training (ADR, C+E)
  • HIAB training (Lifting equipment) such as Slinger/Signaller or Lift Supervisor
  • Flexibility regarding working shifts to meet the demands of an essential industry sector
  • Strong player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in all Anglian water operational sites
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as show initiative when working alone
  • Basic IT skills including understanding of basic Microsoft packages (outlook)
  • Ability to embrace change and positively deal with often conflicting priorities
