HGV Class 1 Driver

Here at GXO Peterborough, we are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team supporting our customer, M&S. You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Tuesday to Saturday, with start time of 02:00 to 06:00, contracted to 45 hours per week.

Pay, benefits and more:

As a Class 1 Driver, you’ll get:

An hourly rate of £17.43, that is an annual salary of £45,786.20

A 15% shift premium, for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00

Overtime paid at time and a half (applicable after 45 hours)

28 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays)

What you will do on a typical day:

Carry out a mix of single and multidrop deliveries (typically up to 2 drops per shift) across England and Wales, collecting returns and equipment from stores as required, with no nights out

Handle totes, rails and occasional pallets, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures

Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times

Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time
