Warehouse Operative
Location:
Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
To support the safe, accurate and efficient operation of the warehouse by carrying out Goods In, Works Order Picking, Goods Out and general warehouse activities in accordance with Company Procedures, Quality Standards and Health and Safety requirements. The Warehouse Operative is responsible for ensuring that products are received, stored, picked and dispatched accurately whilst maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and supporting the achievement of departmental KPIs.
GeneralResponsibilities
The post holder is expected to undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the purpose of the role, as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager. The post holder is responsible for complying with all company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs), Health & Safety requirements, Quality Management Systems and Environmental procedures applicable to the role.

- Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics or stores environment.
- Good attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to work safely and follow written procedures.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload within a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable with a good attendance and timekeeping record.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
- Reach Truck Licence.
- Previous experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Experience working within a Manufacturing or Production Environment.
- Understanding of Stock Control, FIFO and batch traceability.
- Always work safely in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs) and Risk Assessments.
- Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses promptly.
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for employees, visitors and contractors.
