Senior Quantity Surveyor; Civils

Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civils) (Permanent)
Kenton Black are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Based in the North of Scotland, the client is a reputable civil engineering contractor with a strong track record delivering complex infrastructure projects across the region.

In your new role as Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the commercial function across multiple live civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, managing budgets, producing bills of quantities, and ensuring all commercial reporting is accurate and timely. You will monitor project costs and progress, ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements and agreed financial targets.

You will procure and manage subcontractors, negotiate commercial terms, and carry out regular site visits to support project teams. You will also be expected to provide strategic commercial insight, drive value-engineering opportunities, and proactively manage commercial and contractual risks.

As a minimum, you must have 5 years’ NEC contract type experience surveying civil engineering or construction projects and hold a Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. Your previous employment must be supported by positive working references.
