East Durham College is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Performing Arts Teacher with a strong focus on dance and music to join our vibrant Creative Industries team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of aspiring performers and help them develop the skills they need to thrive in the industry.
- Deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in dance and music, with the ability to lead vocal workshops.
- Create an inclusive and inspiring learning environment where every student feels supported and motivated.
- Take responsibility as a course leader for planning, assessment, and curriculum development, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design innovative learning experiences that prepare students for real-world careers in performing arts.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to curriculum development that reflects current and future skills needs, enhancing employability and enterprise skills.
- A degree or industry‑recognised qualification in a relevant performing arts discipline.
- A recognised post-16 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Significant experience in the performing arts industry, with a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
