Position: Dispenser at Boots
Location: South Hetton

Apply for the Dispenser role at Boots in South Hetton, England. The hourly rate starts at £13.92 and can rise to £16.64 for selected London locations.

This role is based in‑store in the UK; remote applicants will not be considered. Current and valid UK right to work is required.

Overview

As a Dispenser you will be a key member of the pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services. You will build relationships with patients, dispense prescriptions, provide support and advice, and ensure the safe sale of medicines. The role also offers career development opportunities such as training to become a Pharmacy Technician or joining the store leadership team.

Key

responsibilities
  • Prescription dispensing whilst ensuring the safe supply of medicines (ordering, labelling, dispensing, endorsing and collection of prescriptions).
  • Work with other healthcare professionals in the store to assist in the management and delivery of pharmacy services.
  • Provide care and advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the pharmacist as appropriate.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
  • Keep up to date with new innovations and comply with operational processes.
  • Support patients to manage their prescriptions their way with reliable repeats and manage medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
  • Work with evolving technologies and new systems to improve patient safety and efficiency.
  • Participate in regular updates and training to develop healthcare knowledge.
What you’ll need to have
  • Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or are currently working towards and have completed the first year of an MPharm qualification.
  • Current and valid UK right to work.
  • Experience working in community pharmacy (great if you also have).
