Senior Residential Conveyancer

Peterlee, County Durham, North East England

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum

Job Description

The role of Residential Conveyancer involves managing the legal process of transferring property ownership for residential transactions. The successful candidate undertakes all aspects of conveyancing work, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and firm procedures. This position requires close liaison with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other parties to facilitate smooth and timely property transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough property searches and investigations to identify any restrictions or liabilities affecting the property.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts of sale, transfer deeds, and other conveyancing documents.
  • Provide clear and accurate legal advice to clients regarding the conveyancing process, obligations, and potential risks.
  • Liaise with clients, mortgage providers, estate agents, local authorities, and other relevant parties to progress transactions efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with Money Laundering Regulations and other relevant legislation by conducting appropriate client due diligence.
  • Manage and maintain case files and records in line with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle the exchange of contracts and completion procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Resolve enquiries and issues arising during the conveyancing process in a proactive and professional manner.
  • Keep abreast of changes in property law and conveyancing practises to ensure continuous professional compliance and development.
Required Qualifications
  • Qualification as a Licenced Conveyancer or Solicitor with a valid practising certificate.
  • Completion of the Council for Licenced Conveyancers (CLC) qualification or equivalent recognised legal qualification.

This role would offer Partnership in the firm if the successful candidate would be interested in this. Senior opportunity to lead a well established Conveyancing Team and oversee the smooth running of the branch
