Locum Physician OB Hospitalist Petersburg, VA

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled physician to provide exceptional obstetric and gynecologic care during weekend shifts, ensuring the health and wellbeing of mothers and infants in the Petersburg region.

Required Skills:
  • Valid medical license and board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an OB Hospitalist, with the ability to manage deliveries and obstetric emergencies independently.
  • Excellent clinical and decision-making skills with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities for effective collaboration with hospital staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during weekend shifts.
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
  • Familiarity with hospital protocols and obstetric emergency management.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of postpartum and labor & delivery experience as an OB Hospitalist or OB/GYN physician.
  • Previous locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
  • Current medical license valid for practice in Virginia.
  • Ability to work weekends (Friday through Sunday).
  • Willingness to travel if necessary, with appropriate reimbursements provided.
  • Certification in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support.
