Manufacturing Maintenance Planner - Gerdau North America

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Planner to support Asset Reliability and Maintenance Management across our facilities. The role focuses on improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime through effective maintenance planning and coordination.

You will serve in an advisory capacity to support and coordinate the Asset Reliability Maintenance Management for scheduled and project maintenance to improve equipment reliability. This position does not have direct reports but will facilitate down-days and outages by establishing planned work with operations, maintenance, reliability, and engineering.

• Coordinating and managing work order backlog for the area of responsibility.
• Facilitating Down Day and Outage planning meetings.
• Developing maintenance plans and scheduling approved non-emergency-based work plans.
• Monitoring and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support ARP assessment and improvements.
• Participating in all major failure incident investigations.
• Maintaining optimal inventory plans and assisting with inventory management for equipment and critical spare parts using Reliability Centered Maintenance methodologies.
• Preparing, planning, and providing work packages for maintenance activities during down days and major plant outages.
• Training personnel on equipment care, modifications, renovations, installations, additions, and replacements of facilities and equipment.
• Participating in all safety programs to help reduce accidents throughout the plant.
• Ensuring timely completion of preventative maintenance and predictive work orders within specifications and compliance with rules and regulations.
• Auditing non-emergency work orders for proper data management and developing inspection procedures for major repaired equipment.
• Interfacing between maintenance and engineering on all new capital expenditures and assisting in development of equipment specifications.
• Updating CMMS, including SAP, for new equipment and equipment changes, work plans, job plans, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
• Generating CMMS reports used in all aspects of managing proactive maintenance.

• Two-year degree/advanced technical training with at least 3 years of experience in a maintenance engineering discipline OR GED/HS Diploma with 5-7 years of heavy industrial experience.
• Master level knowledge of heavy manufacturing or related maintenance engineering activities.
• Extensive working knowledge of maintenance concepts and techniques, asset reliability technology, and systems; experience using CMMS (SAP ERP preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently or in a team, prioritize tasks with minimal supervision, and broad knowledge of computer software applications.
