Behavioral Mental Health Tech-7A-7P
Poplar Springs Hospital is a 183-bed acute care and residential facility. The Behavioral Mental Health Tech (MHT) will provide safe, effective patient care under the direction of the Program Director/Manager and Unit Charge Nurse. The MHT will assist in direct patient care, provide HWC, CPR and S/R techniques, mentor new hires and students, perform administrative duties, and act as a role model to patients/residents.
Hours will vary; applicants need flexibility with availability.

- Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm
- Good communication skills; able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic clerical skills; experience with office equipment; computer skills helpful
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Problem solving and ability to accept feedback; willingness to interact with patients of varying cognitive functioning
- Knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology preferred
