The Multi-Modality Technologist 2 performs duties related to two modalities, which may include performing procedures with related techniques and/or producing images for interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.
Responsibilities- Performs duties for two modalities within the imaging and/or cardiovascular technology job families (e.g., XR, CT, MRI, ARRT, RDMS).
- Operates equipment, accessories and is knowledgeable in workflows, procedures and processes of two modalities.
- Select imaging sequences with consideration given to approved protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters where appropriate.
- Obtains patient’s clinical history and appropriate lab work, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner. Use of POC device for Lab work.
- Applies safety principles with a focus on the two modalities to minimize risk to patient, self and others that may affect patient safety, damage to equipment, or image quality.

Qualifications Education- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate’s Degree (preferred) – for imaging modalities, preference is from an ARRT-accredited institute or an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography
- Certification and Registration with ARRT, RDMS, CNMT, CCI, ARDMS (required)
- Competent or registered in two of the following and obtain certification within 12 months:
Bone Densitometry (BD), Breast Sonography (BS), Radiologic Technology (R), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Ultrasonography (S), Nuclear Medicine (N), various Cardiovascular or Vascular imaging credentials as listed - Vascular/Cardiac specialty credentials (e.g., CV*, CI, VI, RS, RCIS, RCES, RDCS, RCS, RCCS, RVT, RVS, VS, etc.)
- BLS or ACLS (preferred at hire; ACLS required prior to direct patient care in Cardiology units)
- State licensure (preferred, unless required by the state)
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment (preferred)
