Location: Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, VA.
Schedule: PRN, two weekend days per month plus at least one holiday per year (Saturday or Sunday; 7 AM‑3 PM), flat rate.
Preferred experience: Prior acute care experience highly preferred; upcoming OT graduates welcome.

Primary Function / General Purpose Of PositionThe incumbent shall be responsible for providing a full range of occupational therapy services—including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions—in a team environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribute to performance improvement activities as applicable, problem solving, and productivity.
Employment Qualifications- Minimum:
Graduate of a Master’s degree program or a qualified four‑year Bachelor’s degree program approved by ACOTE in collaboration with the AOTA (or foreign equivalent), and hold an applicable and current state license or certification to practice, or meet all qualifications to be eligible for traineeship. - Experience working with adult and geriatric populations is desirable.
- Experience working in the acute care setting is desirable but not required.
- Current BLS certification required or obtained within ninety days of completing new employee orientation.
- Conduct initial assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide age‑appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Evaluate patient response to treatment.
- Document the course of patient care in the electronic medical record including progress made and continuing need for treatment.
- Provide patient and family education on tasks and resources that support continued functional independence and document same in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in discharge planning as part of the interdisciplinary team.
