Job DescriptionResponsible for designing, testing, and implementing internal network solutions. Maintaining and providing Tier 3 support for the network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, network appliances, and wireless APs.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership to the network services staff, ensuring the IT needs of faculty, staff, and students are met.
- Complete and deliver regular audits and assessments, providing reports as required by regulatory agencies and management.
- Design, test, and implement internal network solutions.
- Partner with project managers on network solution analysis, business requirements, and risk assessments.
- Provide Tier 3 support to all network-related service desk incidents.
- Sustain technical expertise in all areas of LAN/WAN/WLAN capacity planning, network architecture design, unified communications, and engineering for a secure IT network.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years related experience of network topologies, routers, switches, firewalls, packet analysis, and other network-based hardware and software.
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, IP routing, LAN and WAN protocols, campus and data center switching, and load balancing.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills.
- Strong network documentation creation and management.
- Knowledge of established security best practices.
- CCNP, CCDP, and/or JNCIP certification.
- Experience implementing and supporting a network infrastructure in a higher education environment.
