Sanitation Specialist

Overview

Responsible for ensuring equipment and facility sanitary specifications are attained. The role requires walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. Employees are regularly exposed to extreme cold, wet or humid conditions, and occasionally moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals.

• Perform tasks assigned by the Department Supervisor including detailed cleaning of the facility, maintaining cleanliness of common areas (break room and bathrooms), post‑op cleaning, and any other duties as needed.
• Ensure the sanitary specifications of equipment and the facility are obtained.
• Understand and use cleaning chemicals and procedures efficiently and effectively.
• Work as a team player with employees in the Sanitation and Production departments.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Remain flexible with varying job assignments and working conditions.
• Follow plant rules and working conditions related to GMPs and clean equipment criteria.

• No prior experience or training required.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Perform basic arithmetic with two‑digit numbers, multiply and divide within 10’s and 100’s.
• Execute these operations using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
