Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac/Tele - Stepdown - Southside Medical Center. The Progressive Care (Step down) RN position delivers exceptional nursing care to patients by applying strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, acting as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units, determining priority of patient problems, and developing and performing patient care plans to improve outcomes.
Responsibilities- Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
- Act as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units
- Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
- Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
- Serve as point of contact for patients care coordination throughout hospital departments
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)
- 1 year of RN experience (required)
- 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
