It serves the communities of Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Fort Lee and Chester, as well as the surrounding counties.

• Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
• Determine the priority of patient problems and needs.
• Implement clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care.
• Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessments, create care plans, implement treatment, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Synthesize and prioritize information for immediate, evidence‑based, patient‑focused action using clinical judgment and inquiry.
• Anticipate and respond with confidence, adapting to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Participate in the on‑call system for emergency and urgent procedures on weekends, nights, and holidays. Must respond to STEMI call backs in less than 30 minutes.
• Administer medications safely, consistent with state practice and organizational policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire; must obtain from an approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire).

• One year of RN experience in telemetry, critical care, cardiac cath lab, ER, or OR (required).
