Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) – Southside Medical Center at Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
  • Act as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units.
  • Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs.
  • Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Serve as the point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
  • Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with state practice and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, not required.
  • Certifications:

    Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN); BLS or ACLS (ACLS preferred at hire; ACLS required within 6 months of hire).
  • Experience:

    1 year RN experience required; 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
