Quality Shop Floor Technician
Location:
Petersburg, VA. The position is within the Civica Quality organization at the Petersburg, Virginia site, a new fill‑finish facility dedicated to the manufacture and supply of essential generic sterile injectable medications.
The Quality Shop Floor Technician supports quality processes on the manufacturing floor, reviews documentation, and generates procedures, chain‑of‑custody documents, or other records that ensure manufacturing processes meet or exceed FDA requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform quality review of materials and components received.
- Inspect finished goods.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and batch records on the manufacturing floor.
- Conduct real‑time review of manufacturing and cleaning records.
- Provide immediate support in the identification and documentation of nonconformances, deviations, or discrepancies.
- Support all manufacturing and processing areas as required.
- Maintain the site’s quality systems related to operations to enable reliable supply.
- Support manual visual inspection of filled products.
- Promote a quality mindset and quality excellence approach.
- Promote a safety mindset and focus on safety for all operations.
- Maintain SOPs and training to stay current with cGMPs for QA shop‑floor support.
- Ensure good documentation practices and ALCOA+ principles are followed.
- Keep current knowledge of FDA and Civica requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve problems collaboratively.
- High school diploma.
- Strong organization and execution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and experience with various software/electronic applications.
- Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work in a small, fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work autonomously within established guidelines.
- Committed to high‑quality results and teamwork.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to learn, build skills, and share knowledge.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Quality Assurance experience.
Regular speaking or hearing required. Requires use of hands/fingers and handling tools. Requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Vision required: close and distance. Noise level low to moderate. May require use of pallet‑jack or motorized walking stack with appropriate training.
