Typical Duties- Install, perform preventive maintenance, and repair a wide variety of commercial kitchen equipment including walk‑in refrigerators, freezers, cold bars, dishwashers, conveyors, food disposers, ovens, ranges, deep fryers, grills, steamers, kettles, mixers, and other appliances.
- Add or remove refrigerant fluids; start system, observe operation, read gauges and instruments; adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps.
- Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on appliances.
- Calibrate equipment when necessary.
- Use hand tools, test equipment, wiring diagrams, and manufacturers’ manuals to perform duties; examine appliances during operating cycles for excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts.
- Trace electrical circuits to locate shorts and grounds; adjust contact points and clean parts.
- Replace worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and wiring; repair and adjust appliance motors; reassemble appliances; adjust pulleys; lubricate moving parts.
- Prepare and maintain related reports, records, and requisitions as required.
- Assist in inventory of equipment, tools, and parts.
- Maintain proper handling, maintenance, use, and accountability of all equipment, tools, and parts assigned.
- Adhere to all safety standards and maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor.
- Communicate courteously and helpfully with others.
- Read, write, and comprehend applicable written and oral instructions.
- Demonstrate ability to multitask throughout the workday with constant interruptions.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motions for several hours; may require climbing in and out of a vehicle and using stairs.
- Work under pressure for extended periods.
- Journeyman or Master level HVACR required; 5 years related experience and/or training in maintenance and repair of commercial kitchen equipment including refrigeration.
- Valid state driver’s license with ability to obtain and maintain coverage through Tessera’s insurance company.
- Obtain and maintain applicable security clearances; background checks conducted.
- Real‑ driver’s license, U.S. passport, or military for federal military installation access.
