North Country Community Mental Health – Petoskey, MI

Job Title: Driver

Reports To: Psychosocial Clubhouse Director

Status: Part-time/On call, Non-Union, Non-Exempt

Hybrid Eligible: No

Hourly Wage: $18.00/hr – $19.00/hr

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Michigan chauffeur’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Preferred experience driving a passenger vehicle.
  • Preferred experience working with individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
  • Experience with behavioral health issues is valued.
Essential Job Functions
  • Drive agency van/vehicles to transport members to and from the clubhouse, places of employment, appointments, and events.
  • Assist with program shopping, vehicle maintenance and errands.
  • Help members enter and leave the vehicle.
  • Follow all safety regulations.
  • Implement clubhouse philosophy, treating members with dignity and respect.
  • Support full‑time clubhouse staff and members as needed.
  • Assist in teaching social and vocational skills.
  • Provide coverage during evening, weekend, and holiday activities.
  • Complete all required Clubhouse Model orientation and other NCCMH trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance; stretch/reach; hear; see; hand/finger dexterity; and drive a vehicle. Requires certification in de‑escalation techniques.

  • Own reliable phone for communication and message access.
  • Maintain current training and certifications.
  • Have reliable transportation with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Adhere to the code of conduct, regulatory compliance plan, and personnel policies.
  • Support a recovery‑based, person‑centered, culturally competent service delivery philosophy.
  • Pass all required state and employer training within required time frames.
  • Communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
