Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Growth is happening with building expansions, new machinery, more moving parts and structures. We’ll need a little more support to help install, coordinate, and maintain our facilities and equipment. To do this, we are currently seeking a Maintenance Fabrication Technician who will be at the forefront of our new growth. This is a skilled position; however, we have a few positions available for different skill and experience level.
Not all duties are tasked to one person but is the shared responsibility of the team. This position also offers growth potential and will support further training to achieve new skills, licenses, and certifications.

This position is a full time, 8 hour shift with overtime pay potential and flexible start and end times depending on assignment.
Snapshotof duties:
- Operate as part of an engaged, cooperative, professional team
- Practice effective time management and utilization
- Correctly use and read measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Effectively read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Cut, fit, and weld assemblies using primarily carbon steel structural profiles and plate, with some stainless steel and aluminum work
- Create quality welds according to drawing specifications, using judgment to determine best welding process for application (short circuit and spray GMAW, FCAW-G (dual shield), SMAW, GTAW)
- Perform basic machining operations on a manual mill and lathe
- Conceptualize and fabricate small brackets, structures, carts, etc without drawings
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service downtimes
- Perform equipment troubleshooting and repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and drawings
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities when requested.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, welders, mill, lathe,and material handling equipment, forklifts, etc
- Comply with all company, local, city, state and federal regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Work with the Safety Director to stay OSHA compliant.
- Maintain flexibility with regard to work scheduling needs.
- Other duties and projects as determined by production and business needs, property management, grounds maintenance, drain cleaning, roof repairs, de-icing, etc.
- Work well on a team, and know how to pitch in when things need to get done; you know how to take and give feedback to improve team dynamics
- Pay attention to detail, and anticipate problems before they become major issues
- Work smart, efficiently, and safely
- Know your way around most simple hand tools for woodworking, grinding etc.
- Can move between different tasks easily, and prioritize most from least important
- Work with purpose/hustle under deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of manufacturing or construction experience including strong mechanical and industrial skills
- Minimum of 2-3 years of related fabrication experience
- Forklift license (in house certification available)
- Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull 50+ pounds
