American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a fast-paced Medical Surgical unit requiring 2+ years of straight med surg experience and Level I or II trauma exposure.

• Work on a Medical Surgical Unit with mixed acuity and diverse patient populations, including post-surgical cases, general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, stroke, and inpatient hospice
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements

• Active MI RN license required at time of submission
• Compact license not accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2+ years of straight Med/Surg experience required (float pool, SDU, or telemetry experience does not qualify)
• Level I or II trauma level experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application required
• MI license verification (LARA and Nursys) required

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Utilize the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and Caring-Quality Model for patient-centered care
• Participate in an active Unit Based Council (Shared Governance) promoting teamwork and a positive work environment
• New team members receive orientation and ongoing support as they grow in their professional nursing practice
• Strict attendance policy in effect: three absences or late arrivals (20+ minutes) may result in immediate termination, with exceptions considered for documented communicable disease or hospitalization
• Local candidates accepted, though travel pay rate is reduced by 10% for those within a 35-mile radius of the facility
• Full-time McLaren employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment ending
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested during the assignment
