Assurance Internship
Are you looking to gain real-world audit and assurance experience while working alongside experienced accounting professionals? As an Assurance Intern at Chortek, you’ll have the opportunity to apply classroom concepts to client engagements, develop technical accounting skills, and learn how assurance services help businesses build trust and confidence in their financial reporting.
This internship provides meaningful hands-on experience, structured coaching, and exposure to a variety of industries and client engagements.
What You’ll Do- Assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements.
- Prepare and organize audit work papers and supporting documentation.
- Perform testing of financial transactions, account balances, and internal controls.
- Reconcile accounts and analyze financial information.
- Assist with preparing financial statements and related schedules.
- Conduct accounting and auditing research.
- Participate in client meetings, team discussions, and training sessions.
- Communicate progress, questions, and findings with engagement team members.
- Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Audit and assurance methodologies.
- Risk assessment and internal control concepts.
- Professional standards, GAAP, and audit procedures.
- Client service and professional communication skills.
- Project management, organization, and time management in a public accounting environment.
You’ll work on real client engagements, gain exposure to accounting systems and processes, and develop an understanding of how outsourced accounting services support growing businesses.

We are currently seeking Summer 2028 Accounting Associate interns.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Junior or senior standing preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (financial statements, debits and credits, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Availability to work during the Summer 2028 internship period
