Student - Meter Shop

We Energies, subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking Student - Meter Shop (Summer Vacation Relief Employee) in our Pewaukee, WI location. This position is represented by We Energies L2150 Union.

This position will start in May or June, works full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm - limited flexibility available.

Starting Pay: $20.75

• Test and clean single phase as well as polyphase electric meters, instrument transformers and protective rubber goods including gloves, sleeves, and cover-up materials.
• Use computers with bar code scanners to log in meter device , operation and configuration of various automated test systems.
• Entry of meter register readings to databases.
• Radio transmission testing of AMI electric meters.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to defective meters.
• Preparation of tested material for distribution, warehouse support of meter inventory.
• Other miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma, GED, or HSED.
• Enrolled as a part-time/full-time student pursuing a Technical, Associate, Bachelor, or Master's Degree.

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering.

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.

At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
