Finance Director

Vaco is partnering with a mid-sized manufacturing organization seeking an Interim Finance Director to oversee all core finance and accounting operations. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that will partner closely with executive leadership and global stakeholders.

• Lead and manage all core finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning & analysis.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across multiple business entities.
• Oversee accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, inventory, costing, revenue recognition, expense reporting, and payroll approval.
• Prepare, review, and consolidate financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Drive month-end close, variance analysis, cost analysis, and budget performance.
• Manage treasury functions including cash management, intercompany funding, and banking relationships.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to accounting team members (both local and remote).
• Travel periodically to an acquired entity to implement processes, establish controls, and support integration efforts.
• Partner with global leadership to align on reporting requirements and expectations.
• Be willing to roll up your sleeves — supporting day-to-day functions as needed in a lean environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA required).
• Proven experience in international finance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in leadership roles with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
• Demonstrated ability to establish structure and processes in newly acquired or evolving business units.
• Hands-on approach with flexibility to step in and support tactical needs.
• Willingness to travel periodically for short site visits.
