This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Head Golf Course Superintendent at Western Lakes Golf Club, located in Pewaukee, WI. The Head Superintendent will oversee the maintenance and management of all golf course areas. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include turf management, irrigation system maintenance, landscaping, and ensuring the course meets aesthetic and playability standards. Additional duties involve managing pesticide applications, directing maintenance staff, and maintaining equipment and compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications- Strong expertise in Turf Management and Golf Course Management.
- Proficient in Irrigation system maintenance and Landscape Maintenance practices.
- Experience and certifications in Pesticide application.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainable practices in golf course maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in Agronomy, Turfgrass Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant experience in golf course maintenance and operations.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, eager to learn, take pride in their work, and enjoy building a great team that functions as a unit. Your team will include four existing full‑time employees as well as enough returning and new‑hire seasonal employees to maintain a high level of quality to the golf course and surrounding property.

Complete the daily set up of an 18‑hole golf course to ensure playing conditions meet company and USGA standards.
Evaluate large‑scale drainage & irrigation replacement projects, working with outside vendors to schedule and execute them.
Coordinate operations with the club manager and golf professional; participate in short and long‑range planning meetings; prepare annual budget for maintenance and capital improvement; utilize best practices for purchases to meet budget goals and reduce operating costs.
Participate in hiring of golf course staff; provide daily supervision, job assignments, performance appraisals, workforce development, and establish priorities to ensure success of the maintenance department.
Oversee day‑to‑day care and maintenance of the course and native areas; develop and implement integrated herbicide and pest management plan; safely manage tree removal, trimming and planting.
Maintain and control Toro irrigation system to ensure proper course conditions.
Maintain practice facilities to a high standard of use; coordinate mowing & trimming schedule to limit golf ball loss; apply same chemical & fertilizer treatments as the course.
Oversee day‑to‑day care of extensive flower bedding, mowing, trimming, balcony and tent cleanup; bring potential exterior building issues to management.
Manage purchasing, inventory supplies, project priorities, maintain logs and financial records; prepare specialized plans, reports and audits; ensure safety codes and regulations are followed.
Assist mechanic with inspection and maintenance of all equipment and tools related to job duties.
Manage snow plowing, salting, snow blowing, and shoveling of parking lot and entrances.
