The ideal candidate is a decisive, solutions-oriented leader who brings deep residential construction experience, strong people management skills, and the grit to run complex builds while elevating the team around them.
Director of Construction Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Construction and Warranty teams
- Oversee quality control, construction standards, and process improvements in alignment with the COO
- Forecast and manage workforce, vendors, materials, schedules, and budgets to ensure projects finish on time and within cost
- Build strong subcontractor relationships and manage performance across active sites
- Conduct field inspections to verify progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and implement new processes and tools
- Resolve project issues, subcontractor challenges, and customer concerns to ensure top-tier satisfaction
- Collaborate closely with COO as the right-hand partner in departmental strategy, operations, and execution
- Ensure all post-construction warranty work is completed accurately and on time
- Manage staffing needs and workload balance across the department
- 5+ years of residential construction experience
- 1+ years of people-leadership experience in construction, overseeing full teams and handling performance management
- Proven experience as a Project Manager overseeing field operations from start to finish
- Bachelor's degree in construction management
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning experience
- Hands-on experience performing job-site inspections
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and balance field work with leadership responsibilities
- Track record of process improvement and operational efficiency
- Experience with Mark Systems is a plus
