Are you an experienced sewer looking for a new opportunity? We have a temp-to-hire opening for a 1st Shift Sewing Machinist in Pewaukee, WI. This role involves operating single or double-needle sewing machines to create industrial curtains and partitions.

• Pay: $18.00 per hour

• Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday (5:00 a.m.
  
  - 2:00 p.m., 6:00 a.m.
  
  - 3:00 p.m., or 7:00 a.m.
  
  - 4:00 p.m.)

• Machine set-up according to product type and equipment performance.

• Operate single or double-needle sewing machines to join, reinforce, or perform related sewing operations in the manufacturing of industrial curtains and/or partitions.

• Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions.

• Replace spools of thread, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and components.

• Record quantities of materials processed.

• Inspect curtains and partitions.

• Examine repair tags and markings to locate defects or damage, and mark errors as necessary.

• Manual dexterity to climb a small ladder and work on large area sewing platforms.

• Operate various grommet and/or logo press machines.

• Select supplies such as fasteners and thread, according to job requirements.

• Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks such as replacing needles, or cleaning/oiling sewing machines.

• Examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to standards, using rulers and tape measures.
