We are seeking a highly experienced First Shift Swiss Machining Lead Programmer with strong programming and setup capabilities, along with a deep understanding of Swiss-type CNC machining. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring a detail‑oriented individual who thrives in a high‑precision environment and can support both production and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the setup, programming, and operation of Swiss‑style CNC machines
  • Write and edit programs at the machine and offline using G‑code and CAM software
  • Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and process documentation
  • Interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Perform in‑process inspections and validate first article parts using precision tools
  • Mentor and support operators and junior machinists on best practices and techniques
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams to drive continuous improvement and process optimization
  • Maintain a strong awareness of quality standards, tight tolerances, and production efficiency
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in Swiss CNC machining, including programming and setup
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and part inspection techniques
  • Skilled with micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other precision instruments
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, make edits, and optimize machining cycles
  • Comfortable working independently and as a team lead
  • Strong understanding of machining theory, materials, and cutting tool applications
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Swiss machines
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
  • Prior leadership or mentorship experience in a shop‑floor environment
  • Ability to support both prototype and production runs
