Medical Oncology Infusion Nurse - Full time 0.9
Monday - Friday varied day shifts. The primary location will be Pewaukee and/or Mukwonago.
Weekend shifts will also be required every six weeks.

Outpatient medical oncology is a busy department with patients being seen in clinic by a provider, either a Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner. In addition we provide infusion services which may include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, or other IV therapies. Our clinic staff is made up of Nationally Certified Oncology RN’s, Oncology Nurse Navigators, LPN’s and secretarial staff to take care of patient needs.
What You Will Do:Medical Oncology is a complex area. Infusion nurses work independently in the treatment area providing chemotherapy/biotherapy, blood products, and other IV fluids through central and peripheral lines. Infusion nurses are cross trained to work at all 3 locations (PWK, OMH and DNG). The field of oncology has become more complex over time. Infusion nurses are responsible for:
- Providing education
- IV and oral chemotherapy
- Providing intervention and evaluation of patient needs
- Reviewing pertinent lab data
- Assessing patients and reporting patient changes to provider
- Providing pre and post treatment care
- Developing individualized plans of care for the patients
- Performing blood transfusions, steroid transfusions, chemo/biotherapy infusions, and electrolyte and antibody infusions.
- Collaborating and communicating with ordering provider throughout therapy
- Completing nurse visits and updating provider with patients condition
- Assisting with bone marrow biopsies
What You Will Need:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Wisconsin Registered Nurse License
- Valid American Heart (AHA) Basic Life Support ( BLS) certification.
