Project Accountant – Southland Industries
The Project Accountant coordinates all phases of the construction job costing process, ensuring accurate billing, vendor compliance, and risk management for large construction projects.
Position SummaryResponsible for coordinating construction job costing, vendor compliance, and risk management throughout the project life cycle.
Responsibilities- Compile, prepare, and analyze monthly project billings per contract requirements
- Perform financial analysis and reconcile project costs versus budget
- Process project accounts payable and subcontracts payable
- Manage vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention, and W-9s
- Produce and analyze job performance and profitability through job cost tracking reports
- Assist in preparing status reports and maintain accurate project statuses and budget information in COINs
- Identify and resolve basic and complex project-related accounting issues in a timely manner
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of project accounting experience preferred
- Strong accounting knowledge and organization skills
- High attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service, analytical, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure and maintain confidentiality
- Computer proficiency with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point
