, a full-service recruiting firm, is partnering with a growing, employee-owned organization to assist in hiring a Payroll Accountant. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
$60,000.00/yr - $82,000.00/yr
Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned financial transactions
- Perform regular account reconciliations to maintain accuracy of financial records.
- Research and resolve basic accounting discrepancies and irregularities; elevate more complex issues as necessary.
- Follow established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and all state and federal regulations.
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries promptly and professionally; provide instruction to help users understand accounting processes related to their transactions.
- Cross-train across accounting functions to broaden understanding of financial systems and processes.
- Basic accounting knowledge with the ability to analyze and resolve routine issues.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and operate under pressure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related technology; intermediate to advanced skill level preferred.
- Flexibility to navigate a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work under direct supervision and make decisions within established guidelines.
- This role does not supervise employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred.
